February is Black History Month in Toronto – a celebration of the history, heritage and contributions of African-Canadians. Join Friends of Greenwood Park this Sunday, January 30 from 11am to 12:30pm to skate at Greenwood Park rink next to a campfire. FROG will provide music, and hot chocolate with marshmallows. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own mugs.
St. John’s Church are offering Monday night Community Dinners to help new Canadians practice their English and learn more about Canadian culture. A free community dinner is served at 6:30pm, followed by activities to help newcomers live in Toronto. Some examples are cooking in English, English in situations, singing in English, and “My Life in English.”
