Bridgepoint Hospital Redevelopment – Update


The purpose of this report is to provide information on upcoming construction activities at the Bridgepoint Hospital Redevelopment Project. The focus will be on describing activities inside the construction zones and provide the level of expectation on the impact to the users, operators and general public.

2010 2011 Curbside Collection Calendar

The new City of Toronto 2010/2011 Curbside Collection Calendar will arrive at single family households beginning this week. Delivery to all single-family homes in Toronto will continue through the summer.

This year’s calendar features a new pull-out poster with photos of items that can and can’t go in the Blue and Green Bins. Residents will also receive with their calendar a special plastic recyclable electronic waste bag to set out unwanted small electronics items such as cell phones, cameras, pagers, computer cables and radios.

City celebrates 'World No Tobacco Day' with unveiling of smoke-free sign

Councillor Paula Fletcher (Ward 30 Toronto-Danforth), Chair of Parks and Environment Committee, and representatives from Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation and Toronto Public Health joined members of the community to celebrate World No Tobacco Day.

A sign was unveiled at a ceremony, indicating that smoking is not permitted at Toronto zoos, farms, wading pools and splash pads, or near any playground equipment in City of Toronto parks.

Eastern Gardiner Expressway public consultation survey

The City of Toronto and Waterfront Toronto are working to transform the waterfront into a world-class location in which to live, work and play. As part of that work, an Environmental Assessment (EA) study is underway for the eastern Gardiner Expressway and Lake Shore Boulevard corridor between Jarvis Street and the Don Valley Parkway.

A survey of pedestrians, cyclists and drivers who use this corridor has started.
