Sub-Committees of the Budget Committee of Toronto City Council will receive presentations from any person, or their counsel, agent or solicitor, who wishes to speak to the matter, on the following dates: Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 6 p.m at the East York Civic Centre, and Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the York Civic Centre.
Toronto Hydro will be doing overhead construction in Ward 30 this year. They plan to rebuild the overhead electrical systems to improve service reliability and reduce the frequency of outages. Expected work includes the replacements of existing poles and transformers. The construction is scheduled to commence in early January and completion is expected by October 2011. The boundaries for the project include Bain Avenue (North) to Langley Avenue (South) and from Kiswick Avenue (East) to Carlaw Avenue (West).

Natural Christmas trees will be collected in January on residents’ scheduled garbage collection day. Residents can check their collection calendars for their collection day. Tree bags, tinsel, ornaments, nails, tree skirts, stands, etc., must be removed before placing the tree at the curb. The City will not collect Christmas trees set out in plastic bags or tree bags. Trees should be clear of snow and ice and easily accessible.
