Canada Day 2020

July 1

Our Canada Day celebrations have gone virtual this year due to COVID-19. Although we can’t celebrate in person, we can still celebrate together!

East York Canada Day Festival is hosting activities and contests and they are also selling Canadian flag face masks to raise funds for the Red Door Family Shelter and our local food banks. They are also hosting an “out-front” physically distant dinner party tomorrow evening. Visit https://eycdc.ca for more information.

The annual Neighbours Together on Canada Day celebration that takes place in Riverdale Park was cancelled, but they are celebrating in other ways. They have provided face masks to seniors buildings in the ward and they’re putting up signs and flags in the Broadview and Gerrard neighbourhood – take a photo and tag them on Facebook and Instagram (@NeighboursTogetherOnCanadaDay).

The City will also be hosting virtual events on July 1st. There will be livestream programs throughout the day showcasing Toronto’s brightest talent. Enjoy music, dance, comedy, virtual fireworks, the CN Tower Canada Day Light Show and much more. Participate in virtual Canada Day programs from home and download a Celebration Kit with interactive and creative activities for the whole family. Plus, nominate a frontline worker for recognition.

The City’s Canada Day 2020 livestream will be available July 1st beginning at 9:00 am. Visit https://www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/festivals-events/canada-day/ for more info.
