Riverdale Historical: A Taste of History

Historic cook Bridget Wranich will introduce some of English Canada’s early cooking and baking traditions as they would have been adapted for Fort York’s officers mess 200 years ago. Come to hear how cooking reveals an important but often overlooked aspect of social history and sample historic baked goods that used to be produced in the Fort’s bake oven and open hearth.
Bridget is a founder of the Culinary Historians of Canada and co-author of Setting a Fine Table, a collection of recipes of favourites served in the officers’ mess.
