Celebrating 50 years 1959 to 2009 Block Party and Reunion Saturday June 6 - 2009 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM
We are proud to announce that June 6th , 2009 represents an important date in our community as former and current residents of Wolfrey Avenue get together for a 50 year (1959 -2009) celebration staging a block party and reunion.
We have received a permit to close off the street between Broadview Avenue and Bowden Avenue from 11:00am to 8:00pm. Local businesses of all kinds are sponsoring our celebration in many different ways; by setting up booths, putting on displays, and setting up activities. Other entertainment includes a neighborhood historical photography exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of many of the houses on the street (so bring your old photos too), live music all day featuring the theme of 50 years on Wolfrey Avenue, and tons of games and activities for kids of all ages. There will be food and drinks available at a reasonable cost all day: hamburgers and hot dogs on the barbeque, coffee, sweet treats, and refreshments. We are trying to keep the event as green as possible, so please bring your own water bottles.
